ill titleABOUT US

Gino Borriello is from the island of Ischia in the Campagna region of Italy. After his culinary education in Italy, Gino worked all over Europe in the hotel industry until moving to Seattle several years ago. Gino was the previous owner of Ciao Italian in Edmonds and Isabella in Downtown Seattle.

He opened Ciao Bella on NE 25th Avenue in 1992 and moved to his present location three years ago. “Our new restaurant is a nice cozy casual restaurant in Seattle’s Laurelhurst neighborhood.”, Gino says, “My philosophy is simple, our specialty is comfort food using the freshest ingredients, especially fresh fish and shellfish from the market daily. We cook authentic pasta dishes and have a great Italian wine list.  We will accommodate any request from our clientele  as we want them  to leave the restaurant with a good feeling and satifaction.”

Here is what people are saying about Ciao Bella Restaurant:

"Ciao Bella is a great neighborhood eatery, offering style and a solid wine selection. If you're looking for good Italian in the U-District or Laurelhurst, check out Ciao Bella."

"The staff was WONDERFUL. Nice people and great service - a big group showed up and it was no problem for them, they just quickly moved some tables together and happily seated them. I'll be back."

"I work nearby and one of my clients told me they found my business because it was next to their favorite Italian restaurant.  Long story short, now it's my favorite restaurant. Fair prices, good service and outstanding food. Highly recommend it!!"

"Absolute perfection that is hard to achieve in restaurant business. Service was impeccable. Food was made from the freshest and best ingredients. For appetizer, we had mussels- they were fresh and perfectly cooked; they instantly melted once inside the mouth. They came in this red, complex sauce that we ate to the last drop, scooping it all and using never endless supply of bread to get the last morsel."

"I had pasta dish with shrimp- perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked shrimp. Great cocktails, excellent wine list, and home made deserts- equally worth every dollar.   One appetizer, four entrees, four vodka-crans, two beers- $134 before tip."
